Virtual Reality for a Zoo Focused on Wild Cats

At VR Master s.r.o., we specialize in creating immersive experiences that combine authentic content from the natural world with modern VR technologies. We recently completed just such a project for the Bojnice Zoo, a state-run zoological institution in Slovakia.

One of our showcase projects was the development of a VR program for a zoo, with the wild cat as its main theme.

The goal was to give visitors—especially children and school groups—an insight into the life of this rare animal, which is difficult to observe in the wild, through a virtual zoo experience.

The VR program for schools is designed so that teachers and guides can easily incorporate it into their educational curriculum without the need for technical support.

Technical Solutions and VR Applications for Zoos

When developing a VR app for zoos, we focused on ease of use. The standalone VR headset allows users to launch the entire experience without cables, an external computer, or complicated setup—which is crucial for use at zoos or exhibitions.

The development of the VR app for the zoo included:

processing 360 videos into a smooth and stable VR experience,
adding Czech commentary and ambient sound,
optimization for longer use by more visitors throughout the day,
Easy to use, suitable even for younger visitors with no prior experience with VR.
